The Museum (project by V. Cabianca - A. Di Vita - P. Pelagatti) consists of 6 sections: prehistory, the Greeks and Kamarina, the natives, the Hellenistic centers, the late-Roman and Byzantine centers, collections and purchases.
Established in the 1960s, it has been extended and adapted to display finds from new archaeological excavations and the transfer of the Orsi collections from Syracuse. The prehistoric section displays Neolithic and Early Bronze Age ceramics.
In the section dedicated to Camarina (founded by Syracuse in 598 BC) the visitor can read up on the necropolises thanks to the real reconstructions of the tombs. In the section on indigenous sites, which occupy the internal territory of Camarina, the limestone slab with the "Warrior of Castiglione" is exposed. Other reconstructions included in the museum itinerary are a furnace from the 4th century B.C. and the mosaic floors of a church from the 6th century A.D.
